PROJECTS

HOMEWORK HELPERS

Every semester, over fifty high school students head back to our three elementary schools to provide academic mentoring for some of our youngest learners.  Elementary school teachers have reported that this tutoring program has been particularly important in the Spring, as their students prepare for state assessments.  These high schoolers, many of whom are contemplating a future in the education field,  have the opportunity to earn a stipend or community service hours for their work.

SCHOOL STORE

Many economists agree that free enterprise is fueled by healthy consumerism. To know what consumers want, however, requires knowledge of products, prices, inventory, budgeting, and keeping a step ahead of customer demands. What better way to become acquainted with the demanding field of retail than by supplying school students an opportunity to learn firsthand what it’s all about.
